1. Tell me about this site.

This journal is an in character blog for Chuck Bartowski. It is used for fic writing and role playing.

This journal is a part of the fiction writing community, Theatrical Muse. The community provides prompt ideas and members write short stories for the characters they have chosen. Stories may be written in first, second or third person.

The majority of the stories in this blog are written in first person, though any tagged 'narrative' are in third person.

There will also be in character posts that are not short stories. They may be memes or quick blog entries.

2. What does 'ooc' 'meta' 'IC' 'mun' 'RP' and stuff like that mean?

OOC = Out Of Character
Any posts tagged this are the writer speaking, not the character. Usually OOC posts are to give props to another writer or give a heads up to other writers as to why you're unable to respond to posts for a short while.

Meta
Any posts tagged this feature Chuck pushing the '4th wall.' He will comment as if he knows for a moment he is on a TV show. These posts are meant to be silly fun. In general Chuck isn't supposed know he's fictional.

IC = In character
This is Chuck speaking as Chuck.

Mun
Mun is the term for the writer of the blog.

RP = Role Play
These are posts that have a story unfolding between 2 or more characters. The comments to the post move the story along.

3. Why does Chuck talk to other characters in other shows/movies as if they are real?

There's a sort of accepted rule of the community that your character is not supposed to say 'You're fictional!' to another character. I try not to do this when commenting to other characters but from time, Chuck will mention watching shows/movies, etc. in blog entries.

There are other people who role play with different characters. Eventually, your character interacts with other characters and they become friends, lovers, etc.

4. What are 'verses?'

Verses are alternate realities. Sometimes role playing with certain characters is easier if you change the character slightly. Or, sometimes you want to explore a 'what if' reality for the character you're playing.

Chuck has a couple of verses. The 'future' verse is my 'what if' for how his life could be about a decade after he first became the Intersect. (tag is 'verse: future')

The 'shakeitup' verse is based on a role playing community called [livejournal.com profile] shakeitup_pf. Basically, the story of that community is that various characters have been taken to a world where just about any wish is granted. (Except no one can wish themselves home or wish for others to join them in this world. Tag is 'shakeitup')

The 'Marvel' verse is another alternate reality. In this verse, Chuck lives in New York, working as an executive assistant for Pepper Potts over at Stark Industries. He's recently taken a tour of SHIELD and may be working for them in the near future. Pepper set him up on a tour of SHIELD shortly after learning about Chuck's ability.

Most of the stories in this blog follow the events of the show though. Or, the entries could fit into the canon of the show with a little imagining. Any entries that could happen within the canon verse are tagged 'verse: canon.'

5. May I talk to Chuck? What about friending this journal?

If you have a muse journal, feel free to talk to him or friend his journal. :) I also may friend journals of people I know that also write muses.

If you friend the journal and it's not a muse journal and I don't know the journal name, I may not friend back right away. I suppose you could talk to him but if you talk to him like he's a character on a TV show, he will act confused.

6. So this is just a fansite, right?

Yup.

Disclaimer reposted from the profile page:
This just a writing journal. I'm just a silly fan of the show Chuck and I adopted him as a muse for various prompt and RP communities. I'm not connected to the show or the network. And I'm not Zachary Levi either, though I think he does a great job as the character. Just for fun, not for profit or anything...
