Star Trek was having its opening night midnight showings and of course, all of us at the Buy More (except for Casey) wanted to see it.

But store manager Emmett had other plans. He wanted us to stay and do inventory that night.

Morgan wasn't at all happy about this. He paced the floor, muttering about how unfair this was.

I came up to him and could tell he was muttering. But I was having trouble understanding him. So I asked, "What's wrong, buddy?"

"What's wrong, Chuck?" Morgan asked in such a way that I knew the answer should be obvious.

It was then that I commented, "I don't want to do inventory either."

"Emmett having us sit around counting boxes the night Star Trek comes out is not cool. This whole situation isn't. Wanna know what this is? It's inhumane, Chuck. That's what this is," he grumbled.

"Yeah, I know. But we can see it tomorrow and-"

"But tonight, Chuck...tonight is the night for the true fans. Hundreds of our kind lined up, many in costumes like it was time for another convention. That's when it's magical, Chuck."

"So what do you propose that we do?" I asked.

"Weasel our ways out of it. If we have to ally with Lester and Jeff to do it, so be it. I will enter into an unholy alliance just to see that movie tonight," vowed Morgan.

I was about to say something when out of the corner of my eye, I saw Casey motion for me to come talk to him. I turned back to Morgan and said, "Well, let me know what you guys come up with. I'll be right back." Then I went over to see what Casey wanted.

[Locked to those who know of his secret life]

It was then that I figured I wasn't seeing Star Trek tonight even if Morgan and Lester figured out a way to get us out of inventory duty. If Casey wanted to talk to me, it most likely meant we had another mission. And if we had another mission, it most likely wouldn't send us anywhere near a movie theater. [/unlocked]
