I think it's about time someone started working on the hoverboard.
Remember Back to the Future, Part II when Marty is using this floating skateboard like thing? It looked really cool, I thought. And the year that he time travels to in that movie is 2015. That's only five years away now.
For fiction to meet reality, someone has to start working on the hoverboard so we have it for the actual 2015. It shouldn't be all that hard. We already have hovercrafts. And a hoverboard doesn't go all that high that it would be a real safety issue if someone fell off. It just hovers a little higher off the ground than a skateboard is raised up by its wheels.
So c'mon inventors. Get working on that hoverboard!
(Okay, I honestly know Back to the Future was just a movie. And no, I'm really not one of those people that thinks that life really has to imitate the movies. But I still think a hoverboard would be fun.)
