Halloween Party (open RP)

Chuck donned his ren faire ruffled shirt and vest once again. Although he would eventually break into the Sandworm costume, he thought to have something costume-ish on in the meantime.

The courtyard outside Chuck and Ellie's apartment was decorated with Halloween lights and spooky decorations. Music played as costumed guests mingled with one another while a couple were helping themselves to the snacks and punch set up on a table at the edge of the courtyard.

"Sandworm?" She's not entirely sure what he's talking about, but it sounds interesting.

Chuck nods. "Yeah it's the huge alien worm thing from the 'Dune' movie," he explains.

She brightens immediately. "Oh! I think I saw that one once on a date. Sting was in it, right?"

"Uh-huh, that's the one!" Chuck then grins, glad someone else had heard of the movie.

"You know, You are totally going to have to explain that one to me one of these days cause I had NO idea what was going on most of the time. Oh, and that one little girl kind of freaked me out a bit."

Chuck laughs. "Sure. I definitely wouldn't mind. And yeah. She was a bit creepy." He then changes the subject and offers, "Can I get you anything to drink or anything?"

"Wow, Captain Awesome is...rather..." He's a bit of a loss for words. Awesome is a big strong guy.

"Fit?" Chuck offers. "He exercises a lot..."

Oh good, cause that's about all she remembers from that movie anyway.

"I'd love something actually. What have you got?"

"Um, we got soda, water, punch, and some beer. Not much for booze. Morgan tends to spike the punch if there's stuff around."

Hiro nods. "Every 2 hours or so?"

"Well, not that often. But every night, definitely."

Salome had spent a lot of time in California the first part of her summer in fact. Being back brought up some interesting memories, but it's always so nice to be back.

Salome's costume was simple, a blue dress and sandals. Little blue jewels decorated her hair and she carried a basket filled with small white and yellow flowers. She had never dressed up for Halloween, so she may as well use the time to go as what she wanted to be. A water maiden.

"Actually just plain punch sounds really good right about now. I was at this other party before I came here and I might have had a bit too much champagne."

Which Daddy Ten had totally warned her about but that was neither here nor there.

"Good thing Morgan hasn't arrived yet then." He grinned slightly but then asked with a bit of concern, "But, you're okay, right?"

Chuck brightened when he saw Salome's and recognized her costume.

He walked over to her and smiled. "A water maiden! What a cool idea!"

Beaming she curtsied and then handed him a little bouquet of yellow and white flowers. "It should be, I stole it shamelessly from you. I hope you don't mind. I think I paid royalties coming out here."

Chuck takes the bouquet. "Thanks Salome." He then chuckles a bit and smiles sheepishly. "Well, I dunno about that. I mean, it's not like I created the creature or anything. I just told you the story."

"You are very welcome, make sure to put them in water so they stay alive longer." Grinning she gives a careless shrug. "I know, but still if you want to look at the big picture I wouldn't have known if you hadn't told me - and so on and so on."

"I will do that," Chuck replies with a grin. "And I guess that's one way of looking at it." He glances back at the flowers and excuse himself for a moment. "Be right back."

Chuck returns a couple of minutes later. "I put the flowers in a vase that's now in the living room," he explains.

"I'm into long, drawn out explanations, my new thing." Grinning she looks around and then puts her hands behind her back. "You have a very nice place, Chuck. I do like California, it's nice to be in the sun again."

"Every morning, too? Truly such a body needs a lot of work."

He took a beer and bowed to Chuck. "It is a pleasure to meet you," he said.

"Probably. Sometimes he's already gone to work before I've woken up." Chuck then grinned. "Should be something when Jack meets him. Jack thought Captain Awesome was a legend when I first told him about my sister's fiance."

Hiro laughs. "I have to see this."
