Halloween Party (open RP)

Chuck donned his ren faire ruffled shirt and vest once again. Although he would eventually break into the Sandworm costume, he thought to have something costume-ish on in the meantime.

The courtyard outside Chuck and Ellie's apartment was decorated with Halloween lights and spooky decorations. Music played as costumed guests mingled with one another while a couple were helping themselves to the snacks and punch set up on a table at the edge of the courtyard.

"A minivan, a soccer team and a dog." Casey rolled his eyes. "And every Sunday we'll head to Costco," he sarcastically added.

"Hey, buying whole sale is very important. Did you know you can get like twenty million pickles in a jar there for twenty bucks? I never knew!" Of course the first time she even been to Costco was two months ago.

She steps back and straightens his shirt a bit, then looks at him with an almost motherly expression. "Now then, you get back to mingling with your friends and I'll see about letting myself out. I just stopped by because I wouldn't miss this party for the world."

"I had heard that was an urban legend," Hiro says with big eyes. "I thought it was one of those things that people just made up."

"It takes a certain face to wear them. Your face looks better for them than mine."

"So soon?" Chuck says, a bit disappointed. "You're welcome to stay but if you really must go, it was great to see you!"

"I wasn't sure until it flashed a score of 2,000,000 and gave me a special code and stuff." Chuck lowers his voice and adds, "Sometime I'll have to tell you the whole story of why I was playing the game."

"More than the fact that it is a video game and we, as geeks, must play?"

"Mmm hmm," Chuck replies as he nods.

Since he really can't talk about his secret life with so many guests around, he decides to change the subject. "Speaking of video games, maybe we can play a couple after the party. Unless, you know, you can't stick around. Which I totally understand."

"I know, huh? Five buttons and strum bar. That's all you need." Chuck then chuckles.

"Nah. Not like you're going to see any real aliens or anything top secret that'll make them have to use it." Not counting myself and the two federal agents in attendance, of course.

"Not specifically, but I know there are huge containers of food there."

"Yes well, as much as I'd like to stay, I have a few other places I simply must pop into tonight. So many people just dying to see me and all. I'm sure you understand."

Chuck nods. "I do, yeah. But again, thanks for coming. We'll have to plan to get together again soon, okay?"

"I only speak the truth," he smiles. "Do you want to dance? It is a slow one right now."

"That will depend on Ando and Salome. Both of them need me to get them home and I am not certain what they will want to do."

"Well, they're both welcome to stay too," Chuck offers. "But, yeah, I totally understand if they have to get back home tonight and stuff."

"I am not so much worried about Ando as Salome. Jonba will be expecting her to be home. Of course, I could always come back."

"Oh we so will! And the holidays are totally coming up too, which is the absolute perfect time for family type get togethers!"

Setting down her basket she nods and takes his hand, her arm going around his shoulders loosely. "A dance with my favorite agent? You better believe it."

"And what glorious containers they are. . ." She wrinkled her nose a little bit and went a bit green. "I just don't want to think about them, ugh, food."

She shook her head to clear her thoughts, "I like your costume, Major."

"Everything else is just overkill." She agreed with a grin.

"That's true, you are relatively safe, Chuck. Though that begs the question, do you think there is Aliens out there?"

Chuck nods. "This is true. I guess we'll see how the evening goes and then they can let you know if they need to get home or something," he suggests.

"Oh definitely!" Chuck replies with a smile. "Take care, sis!"

"Totally," Chuck jokes.

He shrugs a bit. "Well, if the universe is as huge as science it is, the likelihood is that at least one other planet has life of some sort on it. Whether or not they've come to visit us, I dunno. But I think there has to be some other life out there somewhere."

"The amounts they sell are rather excessive."

Casey smiled. "It's not all that much of a costume per se. It's more of a uniform. But still, any excuse to wear it is fine by me."
