TM #229 - Getting Someone Drunk

If you could get anyone drunk, who would it be and what would you do?

Okay...why would I get someone drunk? That...just...no. I wouldn't.



Though I did wake up one morning to find out what would happen if Morgan found himself with an intoxicated Ellie.

No, my best friend did not get my sister drunk. She got herself drunk. You see, she and Awesome had a major fight and Awesome spent the night elsewhere. (I think with a friend of his.)

Anyway, I didn't know Ellie had been drinking that night. I had gone to visit Casey who was...having a bad day. And, uh, he actually was having a pity party of his own, drinking scotch and listening to Neil Diamond when I found him. I was attempting to cheer him up and stuff.

While I was there, and while I was attempting to stop a wedding, but that's a whole other story , Sarah came to visit me, not knowing I wasn't at home. Ellie answered the door and Sarah found her quite, um, well, tipsy. Then Sarah got a phone call and had to leave since Casey and I needed backup and on her way out, she ran into Morgan.

She asked Morgan if he'd stay with Ellie and he did.

So my sister, whose judgment was considerably compromised by way too much wine, was now alone....with Morgan who has had a crush on my sister for years.

And while this sounds like the beginning of some Lifetime Movie plot, don't worry. Morgan didn't do anything to Ellie. He did sleep next to her but...that's all he did.

Even Awesome didn't think anything, you know...happened between Morgan and Ellie when he came home the next morning.

Oh and when he did? He and Ellie made up. So everything thankfully worked out.

He knew she was defenseless in her drunken state. The fact that he did nothing proves he was acting honorably on her behalf. If not getting at least a little wish fulfillment.

Oh, I agree with that much. The whole sleeping beside her...sorta hugging her thing...just...is a bit weird.

But...Ellie's my sister and Morgan's my best friend so...maybe it just strikes me as being kinda odd cuz of all that.

I think it is very sweet.

I understand why you think it is so strange. Ando makes remarks about my sister and I understand that he thinks she is "hot", but...she is my sister. I cannot think of her that way.

He is, after all, a man.

They just do not understand. I cannot see my sister in such a way. I only see the girl who dressed me up and made me sit at doll teaparties.

And she took pictures. I think she plans to use them as blackmail if I ever become famous. Of course, it would mainly be embarassing in Japan because they would understand that she dressed me in girl's kimonos.

Ellie didn't do anything like that too me. She kinda was protective of me. I mean, she didn't tell me the truth about what really happened to a dog we had when we were kids. Morgan actually knew...and the truth came out during some silly board game we were playing last fall.

My sister and I were rivals for my father's affections. I had the advantage of being the boy. So, she would pick on me.

It could be the culture as well. You were probably seen more as equals than Kimiko and I were.

I can't say for sure, but maybe that was part of it.

As far back as I remember, Ellie's sorta acted as my guardian though. Maybe she just kinda saw herself as my protector rather than a rival.
