Halloween Party (open RP)

Chuck donned his ren faire ruffled shirt and vest once again. Although he would eventually break into the Sandworm costume, he thought to have something costume-ish on in the meantime.

The courtyard outside Chuck and Ellie's apartment was decorated with Halloween lights and spooky decorations. Music played as costumed guests mingled with one another while a couple were helping themselves to the snacks and punch set up on a table at the edge of the courtyard.

Chuck bows to Ando, but he's not quite sure if he's done it right. "Hiro's told me a lot about you so it's nice to finally meet you too."

"I think it'll definitely be amusing," Chuck admits.

"That's quite all right with me," Chuck then grins back.

"And thank you. I'm glad you like it here. And!" Chuck begins remembering the conversation about Halloween they had, "It's warm enough here that you can wear whatever costume you want."

Sarah entered the courtyard, wondering if Chuck would appreciate her costume, the prom queen. At least she looked much better than she did the last time she wore this crown.

Lorraine couldn't believe she was attending a Halloween party, much less one that someone she barely knew was throwing. It was a spur of the moment decision since she happened to be in the Los Angeles office of Crane, Poole, and Schmidt. One more hour with West Coast lawyers was going to drive her nuts, she needed a change.

Her costume was simple, just a black dress and a sequined mask.

"You look absolutely wonderful. Blue looks so good on you. Are you a mermaid?"

"Oh! OH! You must meet Ando!" He takes her hand and leads her to a taller Japanese man dressed just like Hiro, but with a big gun.

"Ando! You have to meet my fiancee! Ando, this is Salome. Salome, this is Ando." Salome is a stunning blonde dressed as a water maiden.

"It would get mighty annoying if it wasn't, but I did promise to behave myself." She finally laughs and tucks a strand of hair behind her ear.

"This is true, look! Sandals!" She pulled the hem of her dress up enough to show off her toes. "Much better then the farmer outfit I wore trick or treating. Cute with the pumpkin but a little too country for my tastes."

"Oh, thank you, Hiro! No, I am a water maiden, close, but no tail." Laughing she raises her eyebrows and follows him over to meet Ando.

"Finally, I've heard stories, but never the real thing. . ."

She smiles at his concern, touched really. "I'm fine. Just kind of in that zone where you've had just enough to have that happy floaty feeling. I like to keep it there is all."

Chuck smiled. "Ah, gotcha. I'll be right back with your punch then." He left K'tanya for a moment and got a glass of punch and returned with it. "Here you go."

"Well, if you start misbehaving, I'll let you know." He then chuckled.

"Pretty," Chuck comments as Salome shows off her sandals. In response to her comment about the farmer's costume, he says, "Yeah, but it matched with Jonba's costume though. By the way, how did he like trick-or-treating?"

Chuck smiled when he saw Sarah arrive. "Greetings, your highness," he said as he welcomed her to the party. "Okay, I know you're a prom queen, but in this getup, I couldn't resist." He sheepishly grinned at his own silly joke. "But in all seriousness, glad you could make it."

Chuck approached the new guest, trying to remember if he met her before. "Hello," he began. "Welcome to the party."

"Thank you, generally I'm good with a time out in the corner," Salome laughs a bit before falling silent.

"Indeed it did, so everyone thought it was adorable. Well he and I walked around until he got too tired and then I pulled him around in his wagon. He got a lot of Candy that he's not allowed to eat." Reaching into her basket she took out her iphone and pulled up her photos. "Would you like to see a picture?"

"I'll keep that in mind," Chuck replied, laughing a bit.

"Hopefully he got some things he could enjoy though. And I'd definitely like to see a picture."

"It's easy getting me there, the difficult part comes trying to explain what happened," she gave him a big grin.

Turning the iphone around she showed him the picture, which was of her in pig tails and over alls, holding Jonba who was dressed in orange sweats and top with a green hat for a stem. "I think he did, he just needs to be careful how much he eats. Did you go trick or treating, or did you just bust out the sand worm costume and go nuts?"

K'tanya takes the glass from him then gives him a sisterly kiss on the cheek. "You are the best brother ever."

"I try," Chuck replied, a bit sheepishly.

"So how's everything going with you?"

Chuck grinned.

"Aw, he looks adorable. And your costume is very nice too." Chuck blinked a bit when asked about the Sandworm costume. "Oh...no, I mean, we're a bit old to be trick-treating. We just wear it for the Haloween party."

"He is the cuter of the two, as it should be. I can safely and objectively say that he is the cutest kid in that town, a title he holds with pride." Grinning she shrugs, "there were some older people trick or treating around the neighborhood. Plus dressed up like that, who can tell how old you are?"

"As he should," Chuck replied with a smile.

He then shakes his head. "Even so, we're too old and it's a huge costume to run around in."

"That's why I like you, Chuck you support my notions of grandeur." With a giggle she cocked her head to the side and thought about it.

"I can see it now: 'Giant sandworm terrorizes L.A. where is Paul Atreides when you need him?'. It probably wouldn't make the front page, but there's insane competition around here."

"Sure...why not?"

Chuck laughed. "No, given this is LA, we'd be probably like nearly the back page. But we're probably the only Sandworm with four legs."

Salome laughed with him and grinned, "you mean there was more then one sandworm around here?"
