Halloween Party (open RP)

Chuck donned his ren faire ruffled shirt and vest once again. Although he would eventually break into the Sandworm costume, he thought to have something costume-ish on in the meantime.

The courtyard outside Chuck and Ellie's apartment was decorated with Halloween lights and spooky decorations. Music played as costumed guests mingled with one another while a couple were helping themselves to the snacks and punch set up on a table at the edge of the courtyard.

"Clearly there should be rules and laws laid out to avoid such messes. I mean you could just sit around and look pretty."

Groaning she looked over her shoulder nervously. "That's a little unsettling."

"Yeah...on a throne of multi-colored light.

"I was just kidding."

"At least you would have an amazing throne, oh would you have a crown too? Because that would be rocking."

Grinning she wiggled her eyebrows at him, "except maybe not."

"I think so. At least I'd want one. I'd want my garb to be totally different from say, well, Emperor Palpatine."

"Nah, really Casey's okay."

"Well it's only fair, I mean, c'mon." She nods for a moment, thinking. "Ah but you could follow on his robe tails and inspire that same type of fear. You know you can only rule through either love or fear. At leas that's what Machiavelli says."

"I know, I'm just teasing."

"No! I don't wanna be the scary Emperor type. Nice Emperor, okay, maybe a bit of a pushover but I can't like give orders to blow up entire planets and stuff." Chuck shook his head.

"Okay, you can be the good Emperor! I don't think you could be a scary evil one anyway. You just don't seem the type, which is totally a good thing!"

Chuck mock wiped his forehead and let out a sigh of relief. "Yeah...I don't do the scaring thing well...and I really, you know, wouldn't wanna..."

"Of course Chuck!" She patted his shoulder sympathetically. "You can have the secretary of defense take care of stuff like that."

"And who should I give that job to?" Chuck asked, feeling a bit curious.

Salome thought about this carefully. "I'd say Casey but he might enjoy it too much. Oh well, there we go, Kermit the frog! No one expects the frog."

Chuck laughed. "I can picture it now- 'Heigh-ho, Kermit the Frog here with a defense briefing...'"

Salome laughed along with him, putting her hand over her mouth. "You do that very, very well. 'It's not easy being uranium green.'"

Chuck grinned. "That would be his new song!"

"Oh man I think I can hear Frank Oz rolling over in his grave."

"Um, Frank Oz isn't dead yet. Jim Henson is though..."

"Uh." Salome was silent for a moment. "Well my little dabble into the world of heroin has come to an end." Laughing she rubbed her forehead and sighed, "you're right, I'm out of it."

Chuck chuckled. "It's okay. You just got the Muppet people mixed up."

"At least I managed to get two Muppet people! Still I feel kinda silly, oh well." With a shrug she continues to grin. "So, besides Stanford, which is huge! How have you been, what's new?"

"Well...I think that's my big news for awhile. I can't believe that finally happened. It was almost like a shock when I got that diploma. But other than that, nothing's really change. Still at the Buy More. We got a new assistant manager that seems like he won't be all that fun to deal with though."

"I can imagine, did you have a party or something because I think you deserve a HUGE party for that." Grinning she raised an eyebrow. "Is he the epitome of all that is evil?"

"No...no huge party yet. I think...I dunno something more low key. Just like a dinner with close family and friends and stuff." Chuck shrugged. "I mean...we're having a party now. I know it's for Halloween but...I mean, how many parties...can someone really have?"

Chuck then added, "As for Emmett, the new assistant manager...I dunno if he's that evil yet. He hasn't been along long enough to compare to the last one, Harry Tang."

"Well, if you do it right you can rock and roll all day and party every night but even that gets old after awhile." Party people usual were party people simply because there was nothing else in their lives. She didn't say that though.

"Harry Tang? That sounds almost dirty. What was his deal?"

Chuck snickered. "Yeah, it probably does. Wouldn't know though."

"Harry was our old assistant manager. He was on a power trip big time. Basically tried to control everyone and everything in the store. But eventually he got a job in Hawaii so he took it. And that's the last we saw of him."

Salome gave him a skeptical look, "You wanna party like a rock star? Because I know a guy who knows a guy. . ." Typical New Yorker.

"That's not a very good punishment, being sent to Hawaii, maybe he was abducted by aliens and they just said he went to Hawaii." She paused. "Blame Hiro's costume."
