Chuck noticed a Pampered Chef catalogue on the kitchen table. He thumbed through it, looking over the items when he came across a seasoning gift collection (http://www.pamperedchef.com/our_products/catalog/product.jsp?productId=11046&categoryCode=GS).

Remembering that Rogue enjoyed cooking, he ordered the set for her and had it shipped to her apartment. He also included a little note which read:

Hi Rogue!

Hope all is well. It’s great talking to you about a little bit of everything.

Hope you have a Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2008! And…if you faced the Black Friday crowds, hope you’re okay! (They’re brutal.)

Talk to you soon,

Chuck

Anna?

Chuck couldn't believe it. Buy More actually decided to sell little Matchbox-like cars of the Nerd Herder vehicles. He bought one and packaged it with a little note which read:

Hey Anna,

Though you might get a kick out of this. Happy Holidays!

- Chuck

Image P. S. Dunno how helpful this would be if you were stranded…well, here.

(Just kidding.)

Jack just has to interject and say "not funny." :p

Yeah, I can see why Jack wouldn't be too amused by that.

The joke was based on this thread (http://hitchhiker-girl.livejournal.com/10958.html) in case you were wondering. *g*

"Dude," Morgan began as he pointed to the Star Wars ornament on display in the Hallmark store, "Look. This year they have an R2 D2 one (http://www.hookedonhallmark.com/2007-Star-Wars-11_p_0-13230.html)."

Chuck smiled. "I think I know who might like that."

"Yeah...me!"

"Other than you, Morgan," Chuck replied as he shook his head.

Chuck purchased one for Hiro and mailed it along with a card that read:

Hi Hiro!

Hope all is well. Hey listen, I saw this and well, thought it might brighten a fellow Star Wars fan’s day. (The Force will be with you, always.)

[Couldn’t resist. *g*]

Happy Holidays,

-Chuck

There's a knock on Chuck's door. When he opens it up, he finds a beautifully decorated box sitting on the doorstep.

Dude!

Saw this (http://www.spymuseumstore.org/5320.html) and though of you!

P.S. It's hanging in Ando's office. He has a tree!

OOC: Mun is a moron. 3 posts later, I might have gotten this right!!

*grins* Oh wow, thanks Hiro!

ooc: No worries. :)

I feel bad but I really don't know the Doctor's character all that well and he and Chuck haven't crossed paths yet.

Um...what sorts of things does the Doctor like?

[identity profile] rude-not-ginger.livejournal.com 2007-11-28 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
No worries. The Doctor is a 900 year old time-traveling, universe-saving bum. Here's a few clips from two very short Children In Need Specials, to give you an idea what he's like. Both have huge lead-in "what happened prior to the special, sorry!

And the Doctor likes a number of things, including bananas, chucks, traveling, and saving the universe.

This is really just proof that Chuck and the Doctor need to hang out.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2007-11-29 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks! Both videos do help. I did have a vague idea of The Doctor, but not really the personality traits his 10th self.

And Chuck meeting him would be fun. Given how much Chuck loves sci-fi, he'd just be in awe.

Okay I'll definitely try to come up with a gift soon!

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2007-12-10 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I gave it a go. :) Since the Doctor and Chuck hadn't met yet, I wrote a sort of meeting. This doesn't have to be how they meet when they do. It's just came to me while writing.

Chuck and Casey were just about to reenter the Buy More. Chuck had needed to buy himself a new pair of shoes so on his lunch break, he had gone to do so while Casey followed him. Upon returning, they saw something strange on the other end of the parking lot.

“What the hell is that?” Casey asked as he motioned towards the strange object.

“It looks like…a phone booth?” Chuck answered just as puzzled.

“Phone booths just don’t appear in the middle of a parking lot, moron.” He paused and then said to Chuck, “I don’t know what that is, but something is going on here.”

“I’d say so, especially since someone is walking out of it.”

Casey looked at him, then back across the parking lot and saw that he was right. “Stay here,” he commanded. He walked briskly towards the stranger and greeted him with a sort of defensive, “Hi.”

The stranger looked at him curiously. “Hello.” He kept walking and now was heading towards Chuck. This did not sit well with Casey who kept following the stranger until he stopped in front of Chuck. The stranger pointed at Chuck’s shoes and then at his own.

“Hey we have the same type of shoes!” Chuck exclaimed.

“Chuck-“ Casey began.

“We do! Where did you get those?” the stranger asked. “And is your name Chuck? Just like these shoes?”

“So now that you know his name,” Casey began, “What’s yours?”

“I’m the Doctor,” the stranger replied.

“Uh-huh,” Casey grunted.

Chuck was about to ask the Doctor something when Casey shot him a glare that Chuck correctly read as, “Shut up.”

“And you are?” asked the Doctor as he pointed to Casey. But a moment later, he said, “Oh! It says ‘John’ right on your nametag. Hello!” He then turned towards Chuck and asked, “What’s in that bag you’re holding?”

Chuck opened the bag and showed the new pair of shoes he bought.

“Oh a new pairs of Chucks I see. Where did you get them? I could probably use another pair.”

Chuck put the shoes back in the bag and was about to speak when all of sudden, Casey growled, “You want ‘em? Here!” He then took the bag from Chuck and gave it to the Doctor.

“I couldn’t-“ the Doctor began.

Casey glared at Chuck, pulled him close and then whispered to him, “Make this weirdo go away and let’s get out of here.”

“No, uh really. They’re a gift. Merry Christmas!” Chuck said cheerfully.

“Well, perhaps if they don’t fit someone out in the cosmos-“

“The cosmos?” Chuck asked, beaming. “What-“

But before Chuck could say anything more, Casey dragged Chuck back into the Buy More, barking at him, “Lunch break’s over. Back inside.”

Chuck smiled as he added the Frommer's New York City Guidebook (http://www.amazon.com/dp/0470144394/ref=nosim/?tag=pricegrabber-books-20&creative=380333&creativeASIN=0470144394&linkCode=asn) to his Amazon.com shopping cart. He addressed it to an address Maya had mentioned she'd be for a few days and included a little note:

Hi Maya!

Hope all is well and that you'll be feeling better soon. Enjoy some time in New York City if you can.

Take care! Feliz Navidad!

Maya opened the box and wondered who would have sent her something here. As she picked the package up and went inside, she realized she'd only told one person. Chuck! Her fingers flew, trying to tear the box open and laughing as she succeeded. Lithe fingers reached inside and pulled out a book. It was perfect! Now she and Gabriel could go do things like look at art or go see a play! Immediately, she began writing Chuck a letter to thank him for such a thoughtful gift.

Dear Chuck,
Gracias! I just got the book you sent and it is perfect! I cannot wait to show Gabriel. Once I am better, I will want to go to all of these places and now I know more about them thanks to you.

Gracias, Chuck. Thank you for being such a good friend.

Love,
Maya

Oh wow Maya...you're welcome! I'm-I'm glad you enjoy it.

Jack!

Sorry about him being all over Chuck's journal today, he's just feeling very talkative.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2007-12-10 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
Chuck remembered when he and Jack were chatting about trivia games and how the Trivial Pursuit games seemed to have too many pop culture questions. He clicked through Amazon.com and found the Travel Trivia Challenge Game (”http://www.amazon.com/Discovery-Channel-Travel-Trivia-Challenge/dp/B0009J3PHC/ref=sr_1_69?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1196373861&sr=1-69”).

He shipped it off to Jack with a letter the read:

Hey there, Jack!

You know, you’re kinda right about all those Trivial Pursuit games. They do seem pop culture heavy. I saw this trivia game online and it seems it has all academic stuff. Maybe it’ll be fun to play sometime.

Have fun!

Merry Christmas!
