OOC: Show Discussion/Mun Rambling

So like with 10 minutes to go at the end of the second episode, I'm like, "Well, I think I better start pondering the state of the muse."

I had heard the second episode had a cliffhanger to it so I thought that maybe poor Chuck either gets relocated or captured and that's how the episode was going to end.

But, for now at least, I really don't have to do anything different with the muse during the hiatus.

Both episodes were, for lack of of a better word, 'awesome.' Getting Casey a storyline was pretty cool, gave him some more background.

The second episode had moments that seriously made me laugh, gasp and get misty eyed. (I'm a sap, shut up.) Just, wow.

I do wonder on the fate of Ellie and Awesome. Yeah, they got engaged, but I think they still have some issues that may come up. Ellie's mentioned in a couple episodes now she thinks Awesome is kinda immature and that seems to piss her off.

I guess we'll see. :)

Okay, well that was a ramble and a half. Feel free to rambling along with me if you'd like. :)

I loved both episodes! Casey is kind of uber in the more than kind of way.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-01-25 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
Casey is uber what?

(Or am I just not getting it at this late hour? *lol*)

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-01-26 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
I loved 'em both. Poor Chuck doesn't realize the Sword of Damocles is still hanging over his head.

As to Ellie and Awesome, it should be interesting if they can manage to work through their differences. Awesome seems to be completely unaware of his faults and she seems a little too willing to let them all pass without comment. Until recently. One has to wonder if Chuck/Sarah's "relationship" has her rethinking her role with Awesome.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-01-26 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
While he doesn't know Casey's been given orders to eventually kill him, I think he has a feeling Fulcrum will find him sooner or later.

Yeah, Awesome does seem quite oblivious. I hope they figure things out eventually. I'd hate for them to get married and then have things REALLY go south.

I'm kinda confused what state Ellie believes Chuck and Sarah are at. I mean, I know in Crown Vic, they said they'd be friends. But I don't know if he told Ellie they were just friends, you know?

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-01-26 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
Oh I definitely agree. He's got to be aware that their ultimate goals most likely are going to lead to something bad, especially after this little escapade. I'm sure he's thinking that imprisonment will be the worst. Poor Chuck!

Not sure if Ellie's completely aware of the state of Chuck/Sarah. If nothing else, she seems completely at ease with Sarah. She either has no idea that they're no longer together or she's aware that their breakup was fairly amicable.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-01-26 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Sarah did warn him of the likelihood of Fulcrum torturing him. I think Chuck isn't ruling out the fact that he could end up dead or being tortured. Both of which would be worse fates than imprisonment.

Poor Chuck though. I think Sarah's line summed it up best though about giving someone a life sentence just for being a good person. That's sorta what his situation could turn into.

Yeah, I think you're right about Ellie's view of Sarah.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-01-26 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
Well, true, but that would be torture by bad guys, which he can pretty much expect. It's dying at Casey's hand that would hurt him more.

Yeah, the whole "it's for his own good" is kinda hollow there.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-01-26 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
Oh totally!

It is, but...sorta true, sadly.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-01-26 09:24 am (UTC)(link)
Of course, then I look at the above statement and think "Well, he'd be dead. He'd be a little beyond caring." However, if he found out and asked Casey if he'd do it and Casey hesitated in saying "No" for even a second, I think he'd destroy any trust Chuck ever had in him.

Unfortunately, yes.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-01-26 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I had a feeling of what you meant. *g* The thought of Casey betraying him would hurt. And it would take a long time to build back any sort of trust.

That scene where Casey says, "'We' as in I'll go after Lizzie, you go find Chuck" makes me wonder. He was partially disobeying orders there for Chuck. Of course, he did in Crown Vic by going to the docks after he had orders not to...but that was harder to read if he really didn't want to miss the action or if it was for Chuck's sake.

The fact that Sarah reached for her gun at the helopad when Longshore was taking him away...now that (to me) shows that Sarah had a moment of thinking about going rogue for Chuck's sake.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-01-26 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
It'll be interesting to see what'll happen next season. Even the last scene in the last episode was telling. The fact that neither of them looks happy that they could be, in fact, close to sequestering Chuck away and, therefore, going back to their regular spy work, seems to indicate that they've possibly grown rather attached to him.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-01-26 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, very true. Next season should be interesting with the Fulcrum closing in and Intersect 2.0 storylines.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-01-26 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup. I'm wondering if the whole thing with Fulcrum will culminate with Chuck getting 2.0.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-01-26 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
It might. Maybe Intersect 2.0 will lead Fulcrum away from Chuck for awhile too. Maybe Fulcrum agents will try to break in and steal the new version of the Intersect and the CIA and NSA transfer it over to Chuck before they can break in or something. Maybe have a decoy that they claim they loaded the data into as well.

We'll see.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-01-27 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Either that or Bryce decides that Chuck needs an upgrade. After all, isn't he undercover in Fulcrum?

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-01-27 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
He's on a mission to bring them down, but I don't think he's undercover in Fulcrum now. They're after him. Lizzie mentions that Fulcrum is looking for Bryce plus the only reason they brought him back to life was because they thought he was the Intersect.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-01-27 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, ok. Misunderstood that part, then. The interesting thing, then, is that they assume he's the Intersect which somehow implies that the Intersect works best when integrated with a human conscious.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-01-27 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
Or that they at least knew it was possible for it to be integrated into a human conscious. I dunno if they know it works best that way, but they definitely didn't rule it out as a possibility.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-01-27 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
And one has to wonder if 2.0 will have the ability to be downloaded into more than one person.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-01-27 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
It might be. It wouldn't surprise me if there's an evil Intersect out there somewhere eventually.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-01-27 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Probably poor Chuck's luck Evil!Chuck is a trained spy too.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-01-27 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah. And one has to wonder if he's got a European/Russian/Chinese counterpart.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-01-27 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe that's who the evil!Chuck will be...a foreign agent. We'll see.

Chuck should be trained eventually though. At least a little. That might be a story arc eventually.

I had a crack!fic moment about such a plotline today actually.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-01-27 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
If for no other reason than he needs to be able to defend himself. They've already shown time and again that despite being covered by 2 competent agents, he can still get into trouble whether or not he places himself in it. He should get some self-defense training and be at least somewhat comfortable with guns.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-01-27 06:29 am (UTC)(link)
Of course, you have to figure that he'll learn the self-defense from Sarah and the gunwork from Casey.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-01-27 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
Self defense training from Sarah would probably be like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89Ye6dLzp4o) (from the 56 second mark on.)

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-01-27 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
Bwahahahahahahahahaa!! Much with the slapping, I'm sure.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-01-27 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
Especially during the choke-holdie-thingie session. *giggles*

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-01-27 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah! "Can we do more choke-hold training?"

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-01-27 07:15 am (UTC)(link)
*slap!*

Chuck: *Looks heartbroken.*
