OOC: Short Hiatus

Hey all. I'm going to be heading to the west coast for a week. (The muse may live in California, but the mun lives on the east coast. *g*)

I'll be in Vegas for a couple of days and then visiting a family friend in California.

I'm leaving early tomorrow morning so I may catch up on a couple replies after work before I go. I should be back on-line sometime on the 17th. (My flight home gets in rather late on the 16th.)

Feel free to reply to this and leave a note of any threads I'll need to tag back when I'm on-line again.

Take care and see you in a week!

I mainly do, gee, anime! However, when I was in classes, I would do portraits of people in the class in ballpoint pen. I can't sit and just listen in a class. I do better by absorbing it subconsciously, then bringing it back when I need it. So, I've drawn a bunch of people from various classes. I even did one of a teacher who was just about to have tribbles dumped all over his head (in the portraint, not in reality).

*grins* I should have guessed on the anime. :)

That's pretty cool though. I never could do realistic portraits. That takes talent.

*giggles* A portrait of tribbles being dumped on someone's head. Too funny.

Heh...I know, I'm so transparent.

I can't do portraits, except in ballpoint. Which is rather bizarre, considering how unforgiving the medium is.

He was one of those very absent-minded professors. He probably wouldn't have noticed the tribbles being dropped on his head!

That is strange, given you can't erase at all or anything.

*lol*

Yeah, sometimes I'd have to abandon a few attempts when things just weren't working. I won't say that they were exactly life-like, but they were definitely more like regular portraits than anime-type portraits.

I'm sure they were fine. :)

I'd also like to try more watercolors. I sometimes got some good effects from those. Unfortunately, though, I tend to be too clumsy with them.

Watercolors are tough. They bleed into each other very easily.

Oh yeah. It's a really tough medium. People who can do it well have to be incredibly patient. But you get such lovely effects with it.
