Meta: Hey Hiro! Check this out!

Seems Entertainment Weekly magazine picked our abilities as nominees for a Tubey award!

(Well okay, they didn't get our abilities exactly right but still...)

Not exactly right, no. But it is nice to see someone appreciates us!

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-08-16 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
*smiles* Yeah, it is.

And you're currently winning, by the way! *claps*

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-08-16 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I will have a gold medal to go with my silver one?

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-08-17 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
So far! I dunno when the voting ends, but you're like 10% ahead of Clark at the moment.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-08-17 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
Clark should really win. After all he can fly, has x-ray and heat vision and all those powers. The only thing he has to worry about is kryptonite.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-08-17 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
*nods* He does have several.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-08-17 06:42 am (UTC)(link)
He can fly. *Hiro sighs deeply.*

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-08-17 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
*Hiro nods.* I guess it was reading all those Superman comics when I was little. I love my ability, but sometimes I envy him being able to fly.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it must be kinda fun. You're not bound by gravity or many of the boundaries that are in the way of earthbound beings.

I think everyone would kinda like to fly at some point just for the freedom of it.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
*Hiro nods.* It must be so liberating to just leave the ground behind and see it all in one glance.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
*nods*

We at least got to float once in Roanoke. Wasn't quite the same though.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
No, not quite the same. *Hiro snickers a bit at the memory of the two of them throwing fairy dust all over themselves. By the end of it, they were more twinkle than flying.*

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
We must have looked so silly.

But you know...I was kinda surprised the pixie dust even worked at all.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
You and I both. I thought for certain that nothing would happen.

[identity profile] not-a-savage.livejournal.com 2008-08-16 11:10 am (UTC)(link)
I feel so left out.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-08-16 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, if I come across a Tubey you're nominated for, I'll definitely let you know, okay? You gotta be nominated for something...

[identity profile] not-a-savage.livejournal.com 2008-08-16 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I was thinking more along the lines of having a superpower.

OOC: Since it's meta, might as well go all the way...

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-08-16 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh!

Well...maybe it's because there's already one Superman on the list...

ooc: Fine by me. :)

[identity profile] not-a-savage.livejournal.com 2008-08-16 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Nah, it's just wishful thinking on my part. I don't have a superpower. Not that I know of anyway.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-08-17 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
Who knows. One just may show up one day...

[identity profile] not-a-savage.livejournal.com 2008-08-17 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought I'd have to get bitten by a spider or something.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
Depends. Sometimes abilities are inside someone already and need to get activated or whatever.

But...there's quite a few that happen by accident...like being bit by spiders or exposed to gamma rays or whatever.

You know...if you wanted to be a superhero without the powers, you could build yourself a super suit or something. *grins*

[identity profile] not-a-savage.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm, most people would think I'm crazy.

How would you even get started building a super suit anyway?

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-08-18 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Um...I have no idea really. It's like building a wearable robot or something...

[identity profile] not-a-savage.livejournal.com 2008-08-20 09:51 am (UTC)(link)
Not all supersuits are like Iron Man though, right?

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-08-20 03:55 pm (UTC)(link)
If you're designing the suit, you don't have to make yours like Iron Man's if you don't want to.

[identity profile] not-a-savage.livejournal.com 2008-08-20 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know of any other suits that make the hero.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-08-20 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Well...what would you like your awesome suit to do?

[identity profile] not-a-savage.livejournal.com 2008-08-20 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)
First, I'd just like to point out that you said the word awesome.

Secondly, could it give me super strength or make me invisible?

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-08-20 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
This is what happens when Captain Awesome talks to you for awhile...you start saying 'awesome.'

Well, if you wanted it too, sure.

[identity profile] not-a-savage.livejournal.com 2008-08-21 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
Awesome. *grins*

So what would I need to put in it to make it super? Iron Man's was an easy enough concept for protection and flight.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-08-21 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
I dunno...some sort of engine to power the suit. And probably some sort of stealth technology to make it invisible?

[identity profile] not-a-savage.livejournal.com 2008-08-21 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
Seems like it would get kinda bulky.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-08-21 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
Well, there would have to be things in it to power it to move, I think.
