Not quite, no. I didn't know they were both in there together though...

*smiles* I know.

She's a wonderful young lady. And Jonba sounds cute too from what's she's told me about him.

Exactly. And what guy is going to pay attention to another guy in the shower?

He is such a sweet boy and he already calls me otosan.

That's what I figured. That's why I thought it was okay to just run in there and brush my teeth real quick.

Awww...

It was definitely a bad surprise for both you and your sister.

I think it is very sweet. He likes to ride on my shoulders.

*nods* It was, yeah.

He must feel like he's tall when he does that. *smiles*

*Hiro looks up at Chuck.* He would feel much taller on your shoulders.

Well, if he ever wanted a piggy-back ride from me, I'd be happy to give him one.

He would enjoy that. He likes to play and he likes to ride.

Does he play horsie with you too?

Re: [Locked]

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-09-08 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
Basically one person pretends to be a horse, or 'horsie,' as sometimes little kids call horses. That person gets down on all fours and crawls around while the smaller person sits on his back and rides the 'horsie.'

Oh, "Horse"! I know that game. I have not played it with Jonba yet. We have not been inside much. That is most definitely an indoor game.

Oh definitely. Unless you have a nice lawn to play it on.

*Hiro shakes his head.* Not of that kind. Most lawns I know have too many things in them like rocks that you cannot trust.

Yeah, would have to be careful...

Cut up hands and knees are not fun.

You will have to come by and play some time.

You can teach me some American games to play with him.

Okay. I'll try to think of some games you can do with a couple of people. Lots of the backyard games required a few kids to make it interesting.

He is in a daycare group.

Re: [Locked]

Well, you can play freeze tag and stuff with a group of kids. Or hospital tag.

Or Cut the Cake. Or Duck, Duck, Goose....

Re: [Locked]

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
Hospital tag? Cut the cake? Duck? Goose? Is goose not where you pinch someone you like or that you know will jump?

Re: [Locked]

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
Okay...that was probably too many choices at once. Let me go through the rules of each one.

In hospital tag, someone is chose to be 'it.' And if that kid tags you, wherever he tags you, you you have to pretend you're injured. So...if you tagged in the arm, you have to hold it with the other arm. If you're tagged in the leg, you have to hop on one foot. And basically, you're out of the game when you can't move.

It's...a dumb game, I know.

Cut the Cake has a bunch of kids standing in a circle holding hands. In the center of the circle is one kid who is the cutter. He closes his eyes and spins around while the other kids countdown from ten down to one. Then, they shout 'cut the cake' and the cutter stops spinning and walks over to the two kids closest to him. Then he pretends to 'cut the cake.' The kids then stop holding hands and run around the circle in opposite directions. The cutter stands where the two kids once were and the first kid to make it back to the cutter, gets to be the cutter the next turn.

Okay...as for the last game I mentioned, the full title is 'Duck, Duck, Goose.' A group of kids sit in a circle. And there's one kid who stands up and walks around the circle tapping kids on the head saying 'duck, duck...' and can repeat saying 'duck' as many times as he wants. Sometimes that kid is called the 'picker.' But anyway, finally the 'picker' has to settle on someone to be the 'goose.' When he taps someone as the goose,' the 'goose' rises and chases and tries to tag the 'picker', while the 'picker' tries to return to and sit where the 'goose' had been sitting. If the picker succeeds, the 'goose' is now the new picker and the process begins again. If the 'goose' succeeds in tagging the picker, the goose may return to sit in the previous spot and the 'picker' goes back to the 'duck, duck...' thing.

And yeah, the term goose can also mean to pinch someone. But it's also a bird.
