ooc: Thoughts/rants on tonight's episode

So I watched tonight's episode later than usual since I also watch '24' and that was a 2 hour one.

And for several minutes after viewing tonight's episode, Chuck just kept saying "I hate my life" over and over in my head.

Obviously, you could tell the episodes were aired out of order since tonight's episode picked up right after 'Suburbs' and that aired two weeks ago.

Okay. I know one constant with Chuck is that whenever he's told he's useless, he tries to prove himself useful and usually winds up in trouble. Now, usually when Chuck does this, he's either trying to rescue someone or whatever.

But having Chuck trying to hack the Fulcrum chip at his Nerd Herd desk was really dumb. I know they were setting that up for him to get caught and didn't want Fulcrum in the Castle or at his apartment but...couldn't they have at least had Chuck off somewhere with a laptop or something instead? I mean, c'mon! Anyone could have seen what was on that.

Two...I don't like when they make Chuck possessive of Sarah. I forgave it when he acted that way when Bryce flirted with her though. Here's why - Chuck thought that Bryce stole Jill from him (not learning the truth until running into Jill again) and while he knows Bryce getting him expelled wasn't completely to be cruel, I think Chuck is still a bit bitter about that. So, Chuck acting possessive of Sarah with Bryce I took to stem from issues with Bryce. Like, 'do not fuck up my life anymore, Bryce.'

With Cole? I dunno, Chuck was bordering on stalker. If this is how they wanted to deal with the legit roadblock that Sarah's missions sometimes would have her acting seductive towards other guys, then...I just was not a fan of the execution. I do believe the idea itself needs to be explored though, yes. In Sarah's line of work, that is something is a very real possibility.

(I hope that doesn't make me sounding like a whining 'shipper, because that's not how I meant it. I just don't like possessive-stalker Chuck. Or completely dumb Chuck.)

Right, I agreed with Chuck going after Sarah when she asked for the champagne, that makes sense.

I also agreed with his Bryce issues, especially at the time they occurred. I took it more as a "You had her, now I do, back off" kinda thing.

This episode did freak me out too, I mean Chuck doesn't seem like the stalkery type, nor someone dumb enough to hack the chip in the Buy More.

I do also like the Sarah having to seduce other people as an issue though, one I was thinking of exploring a little bit from her side myself.

Oh yeah. I had no issue with Chuck bumbling his way to try to rescue Sarah. That's a consistent thing that he does. The scene where he confesses to be the Intersect...was sorta IC? Though honestly, it would have made more sense if he confessed that because Sarah was being hurt, not Cole.

Yeah, you're right. The 'back off' feeling was probably part of his reaction towards Bryce too.

He's seemed mostly out of character this episode. Save for the part you pointed out and the scenes with Morgan, Ellie and Awesome...Chuck seemed 'off' to me.

I think it would be something interesting to explore, honestly.

Though I did enjoy Casey's method of delivering advice on women to Chuck. That made me laugh.

Oh the part at the beginning where he's commenting on the whole breakup thing? Yeah, that was pretty good.
