ooc: Thoughts/rants on tonight's episode

So I watched tonight's episode later than usual since I also watch '24' and that was a 2 hour one.

And for several minutes after viewing tonight's episode, Chuck just kept saying "I hate my life" over and over in my head.

Obviously, you could tell the episodes were aired out of order since tonight's episode picked up right after 'Suburbs' and that aired two weeks ago.

Okay. I know one constant with Chuck is that whenever he's told he's useless, he tries to prove himself useful and usually winds up in trouble. Now, usually when Chuck does this, he's either trying to rescue someone or whatever.

But having Chuck trying to hack the Fulcrum chip at his Nerd Herd desk was really dumb. I know they were setting that up for him to get caught and didn't want Fulcrum in the Castle or at his apartment but...couldn't they have at least had Chuck off somewhere with a laptop or something instead? I mean, c'mon! Anyone could have seen what was on that.

Two...I don't like when they make Chuck possessive of Sarah. I forgave it when he acted that way when Bryce flirted with her though. Here's why - Chuck thought that Bryce stole Jill from him (not learning the truth until running into Jill again) and while he knows Bryce getting him expelled wasn't completely to be cruel, I think Chuck is still a bit bitter about that. So, Chuck acting possessive of Sarah with Bryce I took to stem from issues with Bryce. Like, 'do not fuck up my life anymore, Bryce.'

With Cole? I dunno, Chuck was bordering on stalker. If this is how they wanted to deal with the legit roadblock that Sarah's missions sometimes would have her acting seductive towards other guys, then...I just was not a fan of the execution. I do believe the idea itself needs to be explored though, yes. In Sarah's line of work, that is something is a very real possibility.

(I hope that doesn't make me sounding like a whining 'shipper, because that's not how I meant it. I just don't like possessive-stalker Chuck. Or completely dumb Chuck.)

Right. He tried to get Jill back once and when she rejected him again, he was sad puppy for five years.

Well...parts of it are still 'real.' The problem is, neither of them knows exactly where that line is. Chuck especially. Whenever he thinks Sarah has opened up to him about how she feels about him, something happens and it's "that was a cover" or "that was a mistake" or something.

Bingo. Well, we'll see how this Cole thing plays out. But I'm not a fan of him. :P

Hiro gives Chuck a big squishy hug.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
Chuck could use a hug or two.

As could Hiro...is it me or has the show kinda forgotten about him?

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah, Hiro can use a hug.

I think they're just cutting out how he's going through Palin's backyard to get back to the US.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
*snickers* So that's where he is. ;)

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 01:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup. Had to make their way from India to Russia, then cut across her backyard to get to Canada, then the US.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm still convinced Hiro has access to the off-shore Yamagato accounts. There is no way they could have gotten over to India otherwise.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
Right. But still...how did they get access to passports and whatnot?

Oh well...I guess we're not supposed to overthink this show. :)

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2009-03-08 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
I guess. Cause if this was the real world, they would be in so much trouble for kidnapping Hiro off of Japanese soil. You just don't dis a major ally like that. He's a Japanese citizen, not an American one and they seem to keep forgetting that.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2009-03-09 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly! Unless at some point he was given duel citizenship and it was never told to us. But still, that would still create issues even if that was the case.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2009-03-09 06:30 am (UTC)(link)
Definitely. However, I doubt very sincerely that Kaito ever obtained dual citizenship for himself, let alone his kids.

OOC: Saw "Watchmen". OMG, so good!!!

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2009-03-10 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
Probably not. It's more like Kaito would be the only duel citizen of the family if any of them were.

ooc: Awesome. :) I've heard it's really good.

Hey, I just got a total crack idea...maybe for this week's TM topic, you could write about Hiro seeing 'Watchmen.' Hee.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2009-03-10 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
True.

OOC: Go see it. Although I will warn that the movie does keep up the level of violence the comic does and it seems a bit more simply because it's live action as opposed to a series of drawings.

Would Chuck wince at the more violent scenes?

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2009-03-11 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
ooc: I've heard it's good but violent.

Well...is the violence gory? I'm thinking that sort of stuff might make him wince. I don't think violence itself bothers Chuck since he watches like Lord of the Rings and such. Gore maybe...or something that reminds him a little too much of his life might bother him.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2009-03-12 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
OOC: Not gory, per se, but I think he might wince at a couple of places, especially since some of the stuff comes pretty close to stuff he's seen Casey do.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2009-03-12 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
ooc: Maybe would be a bit taken back and whisper something like, "I've seen that...for real." Obviously he wouldn't say much being it's a public place and also they'd both wanna watch the movie. :)

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2009-03-12 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
OOC: That's good. Yeah, they couldn't be too free with everything, especially since neither Ando nor Morgan knows about Chuck and Morgan doesn't know about Hiro.

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2009-03-12 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
ooc: Yeah. Hmm, since Ando and Morgan would be there, Chuck just might give Hiro a look that he'd understand and the others might think he was just a bit bothered by the movie.

Did LJ hiccup? Your reply is the same as mine above...

[identity profile] nerdherdchuck.livejournal.com 2009-03-15 03:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Did you reply anything that got overwritten or did it just duplicate the comment?

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2009-03-15 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
It must have overwritten it. Now I can't remember what I was saying. Grrrr, stupid LJ.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2009-03-15 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
It obviously needs much kicking.
