ooc: This post is open to everyone. Your character can drop by IC, metaly or via bendy time too. Whatever works. :) Feel to play and have fun!
It was a simple party. Snacks, a couple bottles of champagne and sparkling cider were neatly placed on a fold out table decorated with noise makers and party hats.
Guests were gathered in the courtyard just outside of Chuck and Ellie's apartment, chatting with one another.
The Morgan door was temporarily blocked by a small TV broadcasting 'Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve' in anticipation of the countdown to 2009.

"What about the friends of yours I haven't met yet? I'd be remiss in my duties as girlfriend if I didn't introduce myself to each and every one of them," she teased, nudging his arm with hers.

"This is nice," she added. "To just be able to do something like this without, you know, fear of the world ending." Of course, it didn't mean she wouldn't get called away on a mission, but just to have the opportunity to enjoy this moment was nice.

"So...any resolutions for the New Year?"
no subject
"Well, not dying?" It was a bit of a joke, but her eyes carried the more serious undertone. "That would be at the top of the list."

He looked down for a moment before looking back at Sarah. He attempted a bit of a cheerful smile and put his arm around her. "Hey, it's a New Year, right? Maybe it'll be much better than this past one. We can only hope, right?"
no subject
"And you're right. It's a New Year. We have a whole new opportunity to get things back on the right track."
no subject
Snapping himself back to the present, Chuck nodded. "I'd certainly like that a lot." Attempting to lighten the mood, he asked, "Any other...resolutions? Cuz now I'm feeling silly about one of mine being to beat the latest 'Call of Duty.'" He then gave a goofy grin.

"Well, I'd like for us to be able to go on a date without it ending in gunfire and the restaurant practically exploding," Sarah added.

He then gave a puzzled look. "Why is that?"
no subject
She shrugged, chuckling quietly. "Maybe he has connections he's been keeping from us this whole time."

He then chuckled, adding, "I should warn you, my Dad taught me how to make that dish and he was no expert cook."
Chuck shook his head, though smiling a bit. "And if Morgan does, Casey will bait him with grape soda until he cracks. Which...knowing Morgan, won't be too long."
no subject
"Somehow I think Casey would resort to a form of interrogation that wasn't as nice as just offering grape soda, though."
no subject
Chuck shook his head. "Well, when he wanted to learn more about where the marlin was, that's all he did to him. We both know Casey could do far worse. And if Morgan didn't talk, he'd probably learn that too. Luckily, a few growls and some grape soda did the trick, from what he told me, at least."
